How to start your day ..

I have received lots of questions asking why I drink warm lemon water first thing in the morning before I eat any solid foods and what are the benefits. I enjoy having a morning routine and starting my day with good intentions on creating healthy habits. Here I will explain some benefits of warm lemon water and why I also add turmeric to my "special juice".


Why warm water?

- Re-hydration

- Improves circulation

- Aids in digestion

Why Lemon?

- High in Vitamin C

- Great for hydration

- Aids in digestion

- Assist with skin health

Why Turmeric?

- Fights inflammation


I aim to have about 16 oz of water to start my day, using the juice of half a lemon and a few dashes of turmeric. I wait around 20 to 30 minutes before consuming solid foods in which I normally have fruit to break my fast (breakfast) from overnight. I enjoy not having a full meal as the first thing I intake which can make me feel full and heavy. I slowly build my meals up throughout the day and my "special juice" is a great start!
